Multiplicative dot cards are an engaging whole class resource to develop number sense and multiplicative thinking.

Students are briefly shown a collection of dots and communicate how they saw the dots and what the total is.

When used during number talks, students may develop an understanding of different flexible ways to determine the total, such as using doubling, partitioning or using 5 and 10 as a reference.
